Ilion School Principal
Dr. Lasalle H. White
1887 - 1890
Dr. LaSalle H. White was graduated at the Oswego Normal school and at Yale University. He earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy by the completion of a three years' course of study at the University of New York, in 1893. For five years he was principal of the Parkville, Long Island, school. He was then elected to the principalship of the Ilion school, which position he held for four years. From here he went to Paterson, New Jersey, where he served successively as principal of the High school, the Normal school, and public school No. 6. In 1885, Dr. White went to Windsor Terrace school, which had just come within the limits of Greater New York. In 1897 he was made principal of public school No. 3, of New York. [This was the position he occupied in 1904.]
