The first annual reunion and banquet of the class of '80

The first annual reunion and banquet of the class of '80, of the Ilion Academy was held at the home Miss Matie Shepherd, on John street, Monday evening last, the entire class of eight being present. As usual (7) the literary exercises of the evening were intended to be the prominent feature, and as usual alimentary and social features, gained the day. The formal exercises for the evening were opened with a congratulatory speech from the president of the class, F. Dudley Corse, freshman at Syracuse University, and the history of the class since graduation was read by the historian, Mr. Albert Chattaway. During the banquet which was of long duration, frequent congressional recitation for further fortification, were taken and well occupied by appropriate toasts responded to by different members of the class. The banquet over, the members of the class retired, and spent the remainder of the evening in a genuinely social way, knowing how soon they were to be scattered to the four quarters subject to the adverse winds and ways of fortune. Fred Cutler favored the class with a song, and the next day bright and early, was begun by celebrating the birthday of the young hostess, Miss Shepherd.
