ICS Graduates Encouraged
ILION - Commencement exercises were held this morning at Ilion Central School and many of the graduates were presented with awards, scholarships, and encouragement from the school's administration. Also present at the ceremony were the Board of Education members who are President Warren Lennox, Vice President Barbara Larson, Secretary Phyllis Brien and board members, Corliss Bourgois, Robert Braren, Dr. John Reese and Joseph Sorge. Superintendent of Schools, Joseph Fusco introduced the administration of the Ilion High School, George DeLuco, principal; Charles Lang, vice principal; Allen Seifried, administrative intern commencement coordinator; and Class Counselor, Marianna Marenfeld. Throughout the year, the Class of 1983 officers have led the seniors for the past school year. They are President, Sally Vandawalker, Vice President, Patrick O'Connor, Secretary, Vickie Humphrey, and Present Chairperson and Presenter, Linda Fike.
The Rev. David Jones of the First Presbyterian Church gave the invocation at this morning's ceremony. Salutatorian Gina Coroniti spoke on "A memory of Friendship", and Valedictorian Frank Dudish gave a speech on "Just Things." Fusco presented the awards and the diplomas with Lennox and DeLuco.
