To Host Foreign Student

ILION - Yasushi Takase, 17, of Yokohama, Japan, will arrive in Ilion this summer as a foreign exchange student at Ilion High School, according to Mrs. Gloria Long. president, Ilion Chapter, American Field Service.

Host family to the youth will be Mr. and Mrs. George Getman, of 22 John St. Host "brother" and "sisters" to the youth will be Ross and Carole Getman, students at Ilion High School, and Anne Marie and Gail Getman, West Hill School students, four of the nine children of Mr. and Mrs. Getman.

Yasushi, son of Masaaki and Hisayo Takase, will join the senior class at Ilion High School. He currently attends Komaba Ixiwer Secondary School attached to Tokyo University of Education.

Active on the audio-visual and broadcasting committee of his school, a member of the English-speaking club and an avid soccer player, Yasushi also enjoys music, reading and playing baseball.

Mrs. Long said Yasushi will arrive in Ilion in late July and spend August becoming acquainted with his host family and the Ilion community.
