Sorority Toy Drive In Ilion

ILION - Beta Chi Rho sorority in Ilion will hold a Toy Drive Saturday to collect toys for several hundred children at Rome State Hospital.

The drive will be held from 2 - 4 pm. in the parking lot across the street from the Ilion First United Methodist Church on Second St.

Children ranging in age from 3 up to 15 years, will receive the toys at a Christmas Party given by various groups, including the sorority.

Margy Vella, chairman of the drive, said yesterday that the sorority will take any used toys, but especially needed are dolls with long hair, old hats and pocketbooks, games and stuffed animals.

The sorority works throughout the year with the children, with members going to the hospital on a regularly scheduled basis.
