'110 In The Shade' At IHS April 12-14 A DRESS REHEARSAL was held last night for "110 In The Shade" to be presented by the Ilion Central School Music Department at 8 p.m. April 12, 13, and 14 at the Ilion High School auditorium. ILION - "110 In The Shade" will be presented by the Ilion Central School Music Dept., for three nights, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 12, 13 and 14. Performances will begin at 8 p m in the HIS auditorium "110 in the Shade" will star Elaine Hyer and Kevin Ferguson with supporting roles being played by Jeff Coffin, Kevin Gould, Doug Durand and Martin Snedeker under the direction of Hal Thomas. Scene director is Cissy Hoffman with Linda Service serving as assistant director and Heidi Meritt in charge of costume. The musical takes place in the early 1900's in the town of Three Points, Colo. and deals with a con-man who claims he can cure a drought by milking the heavens through magic. The rainmaker's real specialty is showing folks how to make life prettier through the power of positive self-deception. Elaine Hyer as Lizzie portrays an ugly duckling girl who is changed into a beautiful swan. She depicts her loneliness when she sings "Love Don't Turn Away" and later she unites with Kevin Ferguson, playing Starbuck, and sings "You're Not Foolin' Me". A large Choir, portraying the townspeople of Three Points, backs up the major characters with numbers such as: "Rain Song", "Poker Polka", "Is It Really Me?" and "Cinderella". Proceeds from the musical will go the Ilion American Field Service program.
