Ilion Seniors Take Offices ILION - Many Ilion Central High School seniors assumed the duties of Village offices today as part of Youth Day sponsored by the Elks' Club. Youth Day is an annual event when the high school faculty chooses outstanding seniors to fill the posts of village officials. Taking over as Mayor for today is Richard Janis, with assistance by Honorary Mayor Karun Obyam, foreign exchange student from Thailand. Other officers chosen for duties today were: John Wainwright, fire chief; Betsy Morris, finance commissioner; Paul Gogol, public works commissioner; James Patrei, police commissioner; Gary Ayers, village attorney Linda Braren, deputy village clerk. Also: Gertrude Lucey, treasurer; Richard Reynolds, engineer; William Fischer, electric manager; David Smithson, water superintendent; Jeffrey Whittemore, police judge; Steward Robertson, police chief; Larry Hollar, street superintendent; Sharon Dibble, police desk lieutenant; Patricia Snyder, public librarian. Linda Abeling, village clerk; Kirk Menard, urban renewal director; Kenneth Wood, urban renewal relocation officer; Linda Ladd, urban renewal secretary; Steven Castel, department of sanitation.
