Ilion - Seven students at Ilion Central High School have been honored with "Letters of Commendation" for their high performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test held last spring, according to Leo J. Sammon, principal.

They are: Miss Carla Braun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Braun, 66 Richfield St.; Richard Candella, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Candella, W. Main St.; Janet Keddell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keddell, 100 First St.

Also, Richard Parkinson, son of Mrs. Barbara Parkinson, 17 Armory St.; Richard Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Reynolds, 26 Clark Pla.; Patricia Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Snyder, 76 S. Third Ave.; Gene Zimmerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Zimmerman, 251 S. Fourth Ave.

They are among 38,000 students across the nation recognized for scoring in the top two per cent of students who complete high school in 1966.

The announcement also stated that the commended students rank just below the 14,000 semifinalists announced last month.
