Ilion High Informative By Bill Cornell and Don Keddell - November 16, 1963

Ilion's smashing victory over rival Herkimer was the main topic of conversation this week. The Golden Bombers came up with a resounding 27-13 upset over the Magicians.

Once again the halls of IHS were filled with posters congratulating the team on its fine victory. This win was the perfect ending for one of the best Homecoming Weekends Ilion has ever experienced.

All the Homecoming festivities, the pep rally Friday noon, the bonfire Friday night, the parade to the game Saturday, the Homecoming Queen were very successful events and did a great deal to build school spirit. Sandy Shaw and Tony Maneen were elected by their fellow seniors to reign over the Homecoming.

Ilion was also very proud of its cross country team which finished second among the best Class B competitors in New York State. The Sweeney brothers, Terry and Jack, finished second and third in the race to rank as two of the top three harriers in the state.

The National Senior Honor Society, under direction of the group's advisor, Robert Salisbury, will sponsor its annual book fair in the Ilion High cafeteria from Nov. 20 to 23. Almost any paper-bound book will be available at the fair.

The Ilion High Student Council is organizing a candy sale for school organizations which will be held Dec. 5-16.

The Student Council, Latin Club, Orpheus, French Club, Junior High Senate, Spanish Club and National Junior Honor Society plan to take part in the sale.
