Focus On Present Past Needs For Future, Ilion Grads Told
Ilion - The 149 graduates of Ilion Central High School were urged to "focus on the present, combine it with knowledge of the past and needs of the future as their goals for progress" at graduation exercises held yesterday in Capitol Theater.
Commencement speaker was Dr. Eugene T. Adams, philosophy and religion professor at Colgate University, whose topic was "Education - Getting Your Money's Worth."
"For the present," he said "is a very fine line separating the past and the future. Today will be yesterday and tomorrow, today."
Delivering the valedictory address, "Courage, The Universal Virtue," was George Stephen Getman.
Miss Carol Jean Klippel's salutatory address was entitled "Diamonds in the Rough."
Rev. Gregory Mulhull, Church of Annunciation pastor, gave invocation, Rev. Robert L. Withington, rector of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, benediction.
