High School Honor List Announced

The top ten of the 94 seniors who are expected to graduate in June from Ilion high school were named at an assembly Tuesday afternoon.

Marian and Margaret Ray, twins took first and third honors. Marion with a mark of 93.89 will be valedictorian of her class. Salutatorian honors go to Mary Horan with 93.02. Third in rank was Margaret Ray with 92.86.

The next seven in order were: Mary Stokes, 91.37; Kathleen Smyder, 91 12; Jean Bllington, 90.57; Charles Paddock, 90.24, Paul Bouck, 90.13; Barbara Schwartz, 89.95; and Alfred Morris, 89.51.

The marks of 94 members of the class were figured but only 84 are still in school. 10 others are in the armed services.

The honors were announced at the assembly which had a short Easter service, with a Bible reading by the principal. J. G. Prindle; Easter music by the Swing 20 directed by P. Fay Swift, and a special solo by Mrs. Allan Rathbun.

School closed after the assembly and will reopen Monday, April 9. Ilion public schools were able to remain open every day during the winter, so they suffered no loss in time on their recess.
