Trophies Awarded To Momberger - Culver The new Rocky Cramer Memorial Trophy and the Varsity Club "Unsung Hero" statue, were awarded to Paul Momberger, a senior, and Harrison Culver, a junior; respectively at the high school assembly last Friday. Momberger is the first winner of the Cramer Memorial and its donation for school athletics tribute was announced for the first time Friday by Principal J. Guy Prindle. He said the donor desired to remain anonymous. The award is to be made each year, in memory of David (Rocky) Cramer, Ilion High athlete, who was killed in an auto accident three months ago. It goes to a member of the graduating class who has won his varsity letter in a major sport and has shown natural qualifications for leadership, as well as excellent ability in all physical activities, participating in at least two intramural sports, Prindle said. The Varsity Club Trophy, awarded for the second year, went to Culver as the boy voted by his fellow teammates as working the hardest for the least reward in any of the sports at the school. Culver will return next fall to play football. Prindle spoke to the senior high school Assembly, praising the students for their high scholarship and advising them to be careful in Regiments examinations, lest they fall below their capabilities. Earl P. Watkin, superintendent, spoke also about scholarship and told the graduating class some characteristics he said they should develop to be successful in the armed forces and business world. The assembly completed the school year, and students loaded with books, left the building a few minutes later. They return for Regents examinations this week and graduation activities next week.
