Ilion's Senior Class Second in History to Exceed 100 Exercises Planned for Tuesday Night; Program Arranged Largest Class in School's History to Receive Diplomas - "Looking Forward with Youth" Theme Oration exercises for the largest class of seniors ever to complete their studies at Ilion High School will be held at Capitol Theater Tuesday night before a capacity audience. Admissions will be by invitation only. The number to receive their sheepskins is 119, exceeding by one the class for last year, which was the first to top 100 at the local school according to Prof. J. Guy Prindle, principal. The salutatory will be given by Jean McGowan and the valedictory by Margaret J. Andrus. The Rev. Albert G. Judd, D.D., pastor of M. E. Church, will pronounce the invocation and benediction. A varied program will be presented and includes a number of tableaus under the general title of "Looking Forward with Youth." Some of the weightier problems of life will be discussed by graduates. The A. Cappella Choir will sing and selections given by the school orchestra. Mr. Prindle will award a long list of prizes and Grover W. Radley, president of the Board of Education, with Earl P. Watkin, superintendent of schools, will present the diplomas. The Program: Invocation: "Industrial Arts in Education," Cecil Angel; tableau, W. Kennedy, A. Shepard, V. Urtz, M. Warner; "Music in Education," Lois Radley; A Cappella Choir, "Emille Spiritum," Schuetky; "Beautiful Senior," Christianson, directed by Virginia Christiana: "Debate in Education," George Maury. Tableu. B. Limpert, L. Forristel, T. Carney, F. Morton, J. Baum, B. Bird, P. Burger, W. Burke, A. Burrill, H. Caulkins: "American Problems in Education," Clarice Burke: tableau, W. Jones, M. Loefler, J. Loftis, A. Panarites: "Physical Education," LeRoy Fake; tableau, W. Bird. K. Bleau, R. Bleau, J. Bowers, E. Carroll, J. Caswell, R. Daily, R. Garlock, E. Hunt, S. Jarvis, J. Mackin, M. Merritt, R. Edwards, J. Morris, "Title class of Education in the Ilion High School." Among the graduates are the following who have qualified as members of the National Honor Society: Margaret Andrus, Ccil Angell, Clarice Burke, Glenn Carter, Hilda Cowlin, LeRoy Fake, Clara Getman, Brette Limpert, George Maury, Jean McGowan, Anastasia Panarites, Lois Radley, Dorothy Rice, Boene Tjeerdsma, Hellen Fullem, Margaret Kennedy, John Morris, Stuart Wooley, William Brown. Scanning the list of graduates reveals that a large number intend to enter college. The number: taking commercial courses is also large with languages and mathematics almost as great. Others receive diplomas for music, science, history, art, industrial art and general.
