Finished Their "Bit" in High School The student graduates of the High School held their commencement exercises at the High School Auditorium last evening and the splendid programme that was published in the paper yesterday was carried out to the letter. The speakers did themselves proud and every one that attended spoke in the highest terms of the ability of the class. Superintendent Schwartz announced the class honors with Miss Gertrude Burns with and average of 92 5-10 percent as valedictorian. Miss Lillian Burch, salutatorian, with an average of 89 7-10 percent. Miss Harriet Weaver is entitled to honor with an average of 88 8-10 percent. The average of the class on a school basis was 82 4-10 per cent and the average of the class from Regents' examinations was 88 8-10 per cent, which is considered exceptionally high for Regents examination standing. The diplomas were presented by Prof. H. M Schwartz. At the conclusion of the exercised, the high school orchestra rendered "The Drummer Boy of '74," which was a fitting close to an event that is yearly looked forward to by the students, the school faculty and parents and friends of the graduates.
