A full page spread was published in in the July 23, 1943 Look magazine issue which featured Ilion citizens. Below is some of the text of the article along with the great photograph provided by Ron Urtz IHS 1968.
"Vigorous, thriving, Ilion, N.Y. is one of America's thoroughly war-awakened towns. It was the second city in the country to win a Treasury award; nearly all of its 12,000 citizens do war work, either in factories or civilian defense. When LOOK wanted to find out how Americans will some day spend the money they are investing now in war bonds, it sent an editor and photographer to Ilion to ask this question: " What are you going to do with you bonds after the war?
