"Vigorous, thriving, Ilion, N.Y. is one of America's thoroughly war-awakened towns. It was the second city in the country to win a Treasury award; nearly all of its 12,000 citizens do war work, either in factories or civilian defense. When LOOK wanted to find out how Americans will some day spend the money they are investing now in war bonds, it sent an editor and photographer to Ilion to ask this question: "

What are you going to do with you bonds after the war?

Orlyn Wood, grocery store owner, chief air-raid warden
Shirley Swarthout, 12 winner of a state wide Victory song contest
Bobby Clark, 11
Sgt. Robert James Sampson, home on furlough
H. H. Halliwell, M.D.
Mrs. Albert Urtz
Mrs. Elvira Watson, executive secretary
Jesse Babcock, chief of police
Bob Roberts, garage man
Alex Melfe, shoe repair
Gus Panarites, restaurant owner
Mayor Oliver S. Coleman
Dr. Paul Wagner, minister
Ralph Peters, attorney
