Monsignor Daniel Horan - Ilion, NY

Right Reverend Monsignor Daniel A. Horan was born in Albany, N. Y. October 7, 1888. His parents were Patrick Horan and Catherine Devane. After having completed his studies with the Christian Brothers in Albany, he attended St. Charles College in Catonville, Md., and then, entered Our Lady of Angels Seminary in Niagara Falls. Msgr. Horan was ordained to the priesthood at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany, May 25, 1918. Bishop Gibbons appointed Monsignor, Pastor of Annunciation Church, November 11, 1944. For 17 years, Monsignor gave his talents, time, and energy as pastor of Annunciation Church. Those who attended Annunciation School will always remember him for his sincere interest in their progress.

On June 12, 1961, Monsignor was transferred from Ilion to the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Troy. He retired January 1, 1968.
