Conley Sweeney Given Trophies by Block I ILION - Allen Conley and Kenneth Sweeney received top honors at last night's Block I awards dinner in Ilion Central High School. Conley, all-around athlete, was awarded the Francis Murray Trophy for "outstanding interest and enthusiasm." Sweeney, who voluntarily assisted several coaches after he had used up hie eligibility, was given a special surprise trophy for "invaluable contributions" in track and cross country. Elmer Morgan, former Herkimer Central High School football coach, was main speaker. Robert Whittemore, Oneonta, was master of ceremonies. Leo J. Sammon, high school principal, gave the welcome. Rev. Carlton VanOmum, Methodist pastor, gave the Invocation. Rev. J. Gregory Mulhall, Church of Annunciation pastor, gave the benediction. Numerous Awards Given Other awards were made by the coaching staff as follows: Track: Richard Adams, Charles Bowman, Robert Dunekel, David Haggerty, Thomas Hoffman, Charles Holden, Wesley Lints, David Lyman, Terry McGrath. Also Donald Tibblts, Victor Tjeerdama, James Willy, Lance Coyle, William Kelly, David Paul, Robert Snedecker, Rodney Usher, Rodney Ross, Terry Sweeney. Bowling: Thomas Bunco, Donald Applegate. Charles Phelps, Frank Crossett, Robert Clive, Teddy Wilkinson. Baseball: Robert Heneka, Ray Wardle, Edward Cooke, Richard Crossett, Thomas Bracken, John Brewer, Allen Conley, Sam Geragi, Stanley Kozenewski, William Yavornitski, Edward Woodrick, Edward Ashton.
