ILION - Advice to the graduates paid off last night . . . almost.

Ilion's 121 seniors had been admonished to avoid throwing their graduation caps in the air following completion of the ceremonies.

In previous years, this was a tradition, but created confusion.

Everything went well until the last diploma was handed out. Then there was a tremendous yell. But instead of caps flying in the air, there were handfuls of kernel com.
