Ilion Senior Class Holds Assembly

ILION - Trophies and other awards were presented senior class members during the final senior assembly yesterday afternoon at Ilion High School.

Class President John Bower led the flag salute and introduced class officers and class advisors and Yearbook advisors. He later presented a $150 check from the senior class to Superintendent of Schools, George Purple, to be used for landscaping at the high school.

Trophies and awards presented by teachers, Mrs. Marjorie Pett, Henry Ferris and Principal Robert Hall were: Outstanding senior girl athletic award, Paula Dulak; Leo Golicki "Competitive Spirit Trophy", John Deyle.

Frank Lyons Friendship Club, Edward Conte; Rocky Cramer Memorial Trophy, Manny Laura; Richard Lewis Wrestling Trophy, George Jones; Varsity Club or Unsung Hero Award, John Chesebrough.

Richard Crossett presented a gift to Conte, retiring president of Student Council. Gifts were also presented Mrs. Alice Barnford and John Grieco, class advisors. Clarence James, president of Junior-Senior High School PTA, presented life membership pins to Miss Kathryn Hallenbeck and Miss Mabel Briggs, who retire this year. He also presented a past president's pin to Edward Shattuck.
