This Week In Ilion High By Veronica Caffrey ILION - Ilion's cagers came through with their second win of the season a week ago Friday over Frankfort. The Bombers were trailing In the first half but, as usual, started scoring much more in the second half and wrapped up the game. The business staff of the 1957 Mirror breathed a sigh of relief yesterday when the advertising copy was sent to the Progress Publishing Company in Albany. Orpheus Choir, the Eleven Belles, and the Phoenix Choir made a tape recording Friday of their Christmas music, which will be played on Station W.A.L.Y. Sunday afternoon. Once again the Golden Quill staff is getting ready to publish the Christmas edition of the school paper. The Quill will be distributed early next week. The annual Christmas Concert given by the music department will be Tuesday. Dec. 18th at 8 p.m. in the High School auditorium. The program will also serve as the P.T.A.'s December meeting. The committee for studying "How Fare's Ilion's Youth" held a meeting Tuesday night and began the hardest part of their study - to determine just what kind of town Ilion is and what the youth of Ilion do. Report on Ilion's industry, church activities, and annual fund raising drives were given. Mr. Everhardt reported that the students in grade 7-12 had filled out the questionnaires made up by the committee and that the results were being compiled. The next meeting is Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. in the municipal building. The Senior Senate is sponsoring a Jazz Concert tonight at the Elks Club on West Street. The Versitones of Ray Edwards will be featured and dancing is from 8-12. Admission is only .50 cents and we'd like you to see the kids from Little Falls, Mohawk, Frankfort and Herkimer here. And girls please do not wear slacks or bermudas. It is a school rule that all girls must be dressed skirts for school functions and we don't want to turn anyone away because they aren't properly dressed. The Senior Class voiced their opinions about their fellow classmates Wednesday when they voted for the girl and boy in the class who were the most likely to succeed, had the best sense at humor, had done the most for the school, had the most musical ability, led the athletes, were the most popular, shone above all in looks, projected their friendliness the most and were the best dressers. The people elected will be featured on a special page in the Mirror. Don't forget the Senate Dance tonight, the Christmas Concert Tuesday and the Orpheus T.V. show Wednesday from 7-7:30.
