Dean Tolles Speaks

Dean Winton Tolles of Hamilton College, gave the principal address on the theme, "Grow Up, and Stay Young." He told the graduates, "the best things in life are found by combining the best qualities of youth and adulthood, therefore grow up and stay young."

The Ilion High School orchestra under direction of Robert Weller opened the ceremonies followed by invocation offered by the Rev. Charles Bartlett, Presbyterian pastor.

Miss Nancy Tooney gave the salutatory address "Why Science?" following by the valedictory "Graduation: The Towheaded Janus," offered by Gwendolyn Elmer.

The Belles and Beaus, directed by Arthur Dauten, offered a selection, "The Halls of Ivy."

Prizes were awarded by Joseph Baker, principal, followed by presentation of diplomas by George J. Friis, president of the Board of Education, and George H. Purple, superintendent of schools.
