Former Ilion Resident Dies in Pennsylvania

Ilion - Richard Frank, 27, died March 21 m Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park, Pa. following an operation.

He was a son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Frank, 408 John St., and was a native of Germany. The family came to the United States when he was a youth. He graduated from Ilion High school with an unusually high scholastic record after only two years of study. Mr. Frank, held the same high standards in his college work, graduated from Swarthmore College and received degrees at Rochester University. He was a professor at the latter, college and later accepted a position in the General Electric Co. research division where he was recognized as having an advanced scientific mind.

Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Peter, of Chicago. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the chapel of Swarthmore College.
