Ilion Postmaster's Son Gets Air Medal for Raids

Ilion - Sgt. James P. Morris, 24, son of Postmaster and Mrs. Thomas R. Morris, was awarded the Air Medal recently in Italy after participating in 19 combat missions over enemy targets in Germany, Italy and the Balkans during four months overseas as a B-17 ball turret gunner.

Morris who received his wings Apr. 1, 1944 after nearly two years of Air Corps training, was given the award for "sustained operational flight over enemy territory."

Two of his four brothers in the Air Corps recently met in Italy. They were Lt. Edward Morris, member of a Flying Fortress crew working out of England, and Lt. Thomas Morris, of the Judge Advocate's Division
