James Edward Carney, Remington Inspector ILION - James Edward Carney, 71, of 22 W. River St., died Feb. 23, 1957, in Ilion Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Carney was born Jan. 27, 1856, in Ilion, son of Patrick and Margaret Loftus Carney. He married Helen DuCette on Aug. 27, 1917, in Ilion. Mr. Carney was an inspector in the Remington Rand plant for many years, retiring several years ago. A lifelong resident of Ilion, he was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and its Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, a son, Dr. Theodore Carney, Ilion; a sister, Miss Mary M. Carney, Schenectady, and nieces, nephews, cousin and grandchildren. There will be a prayer service at 9 a. m. at the home, and at 9:30 there will be a requiem Mass in the Church of the Annunciation. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, North Ilion, in the spring.
