Baccalaureate Sermon Sunday Night - Class Officers and Honorary Members

The interesting series of exercises incident to the graduation of the class of '98 will occur next week.

On Sunday evening the Baccalaureate sermon will be delivered by Rev. A. C. Loucks at the M. E. church; "Class Day" at the opera house Monday evening; graduating exercises, Tuesday evening, and alumni banquet Friday evening.

The "Honors" are: Valedictorian, H. Kirkland Smith; salutatorian, Edna M. Shaw; president, Francis Wilbur Quaife; vice president and Arbor day essayist, F. Amy Rankin; secretary and class essayist, Grace B. Dygert; treasurer and Arbor day orator, Harry S. Shepard; class orator, Frank K. Bates; class poet, Rena E. Olds; historians, Elma Gray and Bessie Myers; prophets, Lela B. Ross and Lena I. Folts; statistician, Marjorie L. Truax; Arbor Day pet and testator, Bessie Frances Newth.

We are requested by Principal J. I. Wood to call the special attention of the friends of the class to the difference between class day and commencement.

Class day, as stated above, will occur Monday evening. Admission to these exercises will be by card. Reserved set tickets for commencement will not admit holders to class day exercises. All seats will be reserved till 8 o'clock; after that hour the public will be welcome to any unoccupied seats. Those who have no admission cards will gain nothing by coming before eight o’clock.

At commencement Tuesday evening, doors will be opened as usual at 7 o'clock and the public will be welcome to any unreserved seats. Those having re-reserved seat tickets will lose their seats if not claimed before the exercises begin.
