Class of '97

It is pretty certain there will be seven young men and eight young ladies to graduate June 22. There may be one or two more, probably not. Leroy F. Shinaman will be valedictorian: Maude H. Burch. salutatorian; Emma E. White, poet; Etta Cox, historian: William P Wilfert, prophet; Marguerite L. Keller, Arbor Day essayist; Arnon L. Comstock, Arbor Day Orator.

Twelve of the nineteen already have 62 or more counts, proving the March examination papers are accepted. It has been thus far the rule that every class should in some particular surpass its predecessors; the class of '97 will be no exception, there being more young gentlemen than ladies in the class. Other points of excellence will doubtless come to the surface before midnight of Tuesday, June 22. If all goes well, class '96 may lose their scholarship cup.
