School Notes The honors and officers of our academic class of 1889: Honors - Libbie Lewis, valedictorian; Willis Loomis, salutatorian; Inez Baker, poet, Ada Cox, prophet; Belle Jennings; historian. Officers - Harry VanAlstine, president; Florence Myers, vice-president; Kate Barse, secretary; Charles Rasbach, treasurer; Frank Golden, Fred Smith, Mattie Green, Lola Briggs and Kittie Steel, executive committee. The highest honor is given to Libbie Lewis, the daughter of J. G. Lewis of Frankfort. By her excellent scholarship she has fairly won the prize and in every way gives promise of filling the role of valedictorian in a manner that will do honor to herself and to the institution from which she is about to be graduated. The struggle for salutatorian was between Willis Loomis and Ada Cox, and the former gained the honor by a very small fraction. The class officers are well chosen and the coming commencement, which will occur on June 21, we are confident, will be one of the most brilliant in the history of the Ilion Academy. The executive committee of the Alumni Association are at work preparing their program and their annual meeting which occurs in June will no doubt be a most delightful occasion.
