Ilion High Informative - By Suzanne Backman Last night, Feb. 12, the Ilion High School Golden Bombers were again primed for a good game against Little Falls. This was the Bombers last home Iroquois League game. On Thursday evening, Feb. 11, the Belles girls' vocal ensemble sang for the annual Republican Lincoln's Day dinner. Under the direction of Mrs. Jasmine Poplaski, the group of twelve girls sang selections of show music. Their program included "My Favorite Things" from "Sound of Music;" "Goodnight My Someone" and "Till There Was You" from "The Music Man," and "Come to Me, Bend To Me" from "Brigadoon." On Monday, Feb. 8, the National Junior Honor Society held their February meeting. After the usual business meeting, a special panel of three of the valley exchange students was presented. The foreign exchange students from Ilion, Herkimer, and Mohawk each told the members a hit about themselves and their countries. The members of the Honor Society were given the opportunity of questioning the exchange students and their American hosts. The student body of Ilion High learned this week of the distinction won by William Cornell, one of Ilion High's seniors. The school is extremely proud of Bill and wishes him success in the final competition. This honor is won by about only one half of one per cent of high seniors in the nation. Congratulations, Bill!
