Condolences.....

    Bernard C. Murray, IHS '42 and Science Teacher, age 79, of George St., Ilion, passed away on December 7, 2003 at his home. Bernard was born on May 21, 1924 in Ilion, the son of the late Frank and Julia (O'Hara) Murray. He was raised in North Ilion and was a 1942 graduate of Ilion High School. Mr. Murray was married to the former Eloise Ford. During WW II, Mr. Murray was a member of the Army Air Corps, serving as a Staff Sgt. with the 434 Bomber Squadron in the BCI Theater. After returning from the war, he went to Utica College, where he earned his teaching degree. Bernard was employed as a teacher in the Ilion School System, retiring in 1979. He was also employed with the Ilion Board of Light. Mr. Murray was a long time member of the Ilion Elks Lodge #1444 and the Ilion Knights of Columbus. Mr. Murray was also a former mayor and trustee of the Village of Ilion and a former town councilman for German Flatts. Bernard enjoyed hiking and the outdoors, especially his camp in Forrest Port. He also enjoyed working in his hobby shop and engaging in spirited conversation with his many friends. Bernard is survived by his long time companion, Linda Knight; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian and Deb Murray of Ilion, and Fran Murray of West Winfield; two daughters, Pam Murray and her fiance Sam Noti of Ilion, and Mary and Art Collis of Harleysville, PA; a sister-in-law, Helen Murray of Cincinnati, OH; seven adored grandchildren, Theresa, Janice, Gail, Nicole and Joe Murray, and Andrea and Catherine Collis; two cousins, Lonnie Jull of Utica, and June Ellen Kiefer of Old Forge. He was predeceased by two brothers, Fran and Allan Murray; and a cousin, Robert Murray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony and St. Joseph's Church with Fr. Robert Shinos officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion. (December 10, 2003)

    Roberta C. (Bobbi) Dineen, age 48, of Dolgeville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2003. She was born on September 9, 1955, in Oneida, the daughter of Beatrice (Healey) Jones and the late Clifford H. Jones. She was a graduate of Vernon, Verona, Sherrill (VVS) High School class of 1973 and for the year 1973-1974, she was in Japan as a Rotary Exchange student. She was also a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College, Mt. Pleasant, IA, Summa Cum Laude. She received her Masters Degree in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo and her Masters Degree in Music from Hartwick College. She was united in marriage to Terry L. Dineen, on April 10, 1993, at the Vernon United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dineen was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls, and was a member of the church choir. She was also the director of the Valley Voices for Christ and the Power Company of Vernon. She began her teaching career after her graduation from Iowa Wesleyan College, where she taught for a year in the Crawford, IA school district before returning to New York State. Since 1979, she has been the Music teacher at the Barringer Road Elementary School, Ilion. She is survived by her mother, Beatrice Jones, Vernon; her husband, Terry, Dolgeville; her son, Jonathan J. Dineen, Dolgeville; a step son, Stephen Dineen; her brother, Henry C. Jones and his wife, Lorraine, Webster; her sister, Kathy J. Jones, Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Clifford H. Jones, on July 30, 2003. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at 10 a.m. from the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany Street, Little Falls, with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, pastor officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 from 5 to 8 p.m. and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon. A time of fellowship will follow the graveside service at United Methodist Church, State Route 5, Vernon. It is the wish of the family that contributions, in memory of Mrs. Dineen, be considered to the Hand Bell Choir of the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany St., Little Falls, NY 13365.     Myron 'Mike' Bouck, IHS '47 & Industrial Arts Teacher/Coach, age 74, of Palmetto, FL, passed away after a heroic battle with heart disease and cancer on Oct. 23, 2003. Born April 15, 1929, in Ilion, he earned his teaching degree from Oswego University; his masters degree from Oneonta University and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. "Mr. Bouck" was an Industrial Arts and Physical Education coach at Ilion High School and a member of the United Federation of New York State Teachers. He and his wife, Mary, moved to Palmetto, Fla. in 1981. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Mary; daughters Erin and partner Brian of Pasadena, Calif., Jacqueline Murphy of Mohawk, Judy Nudo and husband William of Mohawk and Jan Nudo and husband Robert of Saratoga; sons Christopher and wife Jeanine of Dolgeville, Michael and wife Barbara of Littleton, Colo., Matthew and wife Shannon of West Melbourne, Fla., and Donald Casey and wife Theresa of Mohawk; brothers, Lewis, Donald and wife Betty of Ilion, and David and wife Irene of Schuyler; 24 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Frank and grandson, Daniel. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 31st, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in West Palmetto. Another memorial service will be held in Ilion in the Spring. Mike will always be remembered for his love of life and how a positive attitude can help you achieve anything.     Mrs. Barbara R. Teeter, age 76, a long time Ilion resident passed away Saturday, August 2, 2003 following a brief illness. Barb was born August 28, 1926 in Oneida, daughter of Edward J and Alyce Rose (Murphy) Brophy. She was a graduate of Oneida High School, received her BA from Georgian Court College, Masters Degree from Syracuse University andattended the University of Mexico for Doctorate studies. On August 25, 1956, she was untied in marriage to William F. "Bill" Teeter at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Rome, a blessed union of 43 years until Bill's passing on December 10, 1998. Barb was a dedicated educator, teaching Social Studies, Economics and Latin American Studies since 1948. She was employed by the Ilion Central School District for 22 years retiring in 1982. At one time, coaching Softball and Basketball. Prior to that, she was employed by the Addison, VVS and Chittenango School Districts. She was past President of the NY State Social Studies Council. Barb was a member of Our Lady Queen of Aplostles Church, Frankfort, Ilion Little Theater Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Barb enjoyed reading, traveling (especially with Bill) and rooting for the NY Yankees. Her greatest pleasure came from her devoted relationships with her grandchildren. She loved to follow all their sporting events and activities. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Anne and James Beehner of E. Syracuse; one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Deborah Teeter of Ilion; four cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Beehner and Seth and Jillian Teeter; one brother, Edward B. Brophy of FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Everett Leggett of FL; two nephews, William and Robert Teeter and their families all of Cicero. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, commencing at 9 a.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, Ilion and at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, where Father John Yanas pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, August 9, 10 a.m. at the Litchfield Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visitation Tuesday, from 6-9 p.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions in Barb's name to the Ilion Alumni Memorial Fund or the Ilion Central School Foundation.     Mrs. Freda M. Thompson, age 78, of Forge Hill Estates passed away July 2, 2003 at her home. Freda was born in Arnett, Oklahoma on August 22, 1924. Her parents, Dewey Charles and Mary Fritts Mosshart, and her brothers Fritts and DC, predeceased her. Freda was married to Lt. Col. Robert W. Thompson, an Ilion native, for 46 years, until his death in 1988. While her husband pursued his military career, Freda taught school in Oklahoma, Texas, South Carolina, Ohio, Massachusetts, Germany and the Panama Canal Zone, finally retiring in 1984 after spending 15 years with the Ilion School District. Freda belonged to several organizations in the Mohawk Valley, including the Retired Teachers of New York State and Ilion Little Theater Club. She was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Ilion. A devoted wife, mother and grandma, Freda is survived by daughters, Dianne Morrisette and her husband, Gary, Oswego, NY; Nancy Long and her husband, Kenneth, Ilion; and son, Neil Thompson and his wife, Tarsilla, Wolcott, NY. She also leaves six adoring grandchildren, Julie and Michael Morrisette, Andrea and Kelly Long and Christopher and Eric Thompson. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday July 5, 2003 at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego Street, Ilion with interment to follow at Armory Hill Cemetery.     Kathryn L. Benes, age 56, of Mohawk, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 13, 2003, in her home with the comfort of her family by her side. She was born March 21, 1947, in Herkimer, the daughter of Dorothy Jane Anderson Lescynski and the late Raymond Lescynski. Raised and educated in Mohawk, where she graduated with the "Class of 1965," Kathryn furthered her studies by attending Syracuse University, where she received her bachelor's degree in 1969. Upon the conferral of her bachelor's degree, she continued further in her studies by obtaining her master's degree at SUNY-Cortland. For 29 years she was an elementary school teacher at the Barringer Road Elementary School, Ilion. This is where she touched many lives. Kathryn was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer. She also served on the Church Council and at one time she was the financial secretary. She was also a member of the New York State Teachers Association, AARP and Embroiderers Guild of America. Kathryn was a special person with enormous strength. She provided constant encouragement and counseling to many other cancer patients. She was hopeful during the course of the disease to remain hopeful, active and optimistic. She fought her disease with dignity and determination. Because of her positive attitude, she was an inspiration to many other cancer survivors as well as others who knew her. Among many pleasures in life were her family, quilting and other handwork, travel and fine music. Her life revolved around her family. She was happiest at times of family gatherings and togetherness. Kathryn proved to be a loving, caring and devoted mother whose major concerns were fulfilling the needs of her loved ones. Surviving her are her mother, Jane Lescynski of Mohawk; two daughters, Rachel Madison and her husband Sean of Ilion and Rebecca Benes of Mohawk; a granddaughter, Emily Rae Madison of Ilion; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday morning from 9 until 10:30 a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in Trinity Evangelical Church, Herkimer. The Rev. Alice Moberg-Sarver will officiate. Mrs. Benes will be laid to rest in Mohawk Cemetery. The family of Kathryn asks that in lieu of floral tributes, please consider donations in her memory to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or Hospice Care Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Thanks to Dr. Samir Desai, Dr. M. Stephen Piver and Dr. Robert Hammond. A special appreciation also goes to the nursing staff at Dr. Desai's office and the wonderful care given by Hospice.     John F. Farrell, age 43, Herkimer, died peacefully at his home March 15, 2003, following a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Herkimer June 18, 1959, a son of John F. and Joan (Tallman) Farrell of Newport. He received his education at West Canada Valley Central School, Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Plattsburgh. John later received his master's degree from the College of Saint Rose. His teaching career began at the Ticonderoga School District and then at Herkimer County BOCES, where he was an alternative education teacher. John had last worked as an earth science teacher at Ilion Central School, until the onset of his illness three years ago. On July 17, 1991, he was united in marriage with the former Gail M. Parrow, in Middleville. John was an outdoors enthusiast and thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and camping in the Adirondacks. One of his greatest joys was serving as a camp counselor at Adirondack Woodcraft in Old Forge. He was also an assistant forest ranger in Old Forge at one time. John was a member of St. John's Church, Newport, and the Little Mountain Hunting Club in Old Forge. Survivors besides his wife, Gail and parents, John and Joan, include three special sons, Anthony Goodman of Virginia Beach, Va., Erik Goodman of Utica and Jason Goodman at home; six sisters, Kathryn Dixon, Nora Taft and her husband John and Patricia Farrell, all of Tampa, Fla., Anne Dickquist and her husband Matthew of Ilion, Bridgett Williams and her husband Walter of Newport and Mary Bartlett and her husband Mitchell of the town of Norway; two brothers, Mark Farrell and his wife Shannon of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Timothy Farrell and his wife Kimberley of Newport; aunts and uncles, Pat and Ernie Waterbury of Utica, Steve Mankouski of Newport, Gene Tallman of North Syracuse and Marion and George Hoyle of Pawleys Island, S.C.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rose and Cal Parrow of Sundown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dedicated friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. John's Church, Newport, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Leo F. Potvin, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will take place with interment in the Middleville Rural Cemetery in the spring. There are no calling hours. By family request, please omit flowers and consider memorials to Forever Woodcraft, P.O. Box 219, Old Forge 13420, to be used for underprivileged children to attend camp. The Farrell family extends a sincere thanks to all of John's friends and co-workers for their continued kindness and support during the past three years. Also the concern and dedicated care provided by Dr. Patrick Dwyer, nurse Mary Ellen and the entire staff of Bassett Healthcare in Herkimer and Cooperstown, is deeply appreciated by John's family.     Barb Deyle White

    Barbara J. (Deyle) White, Class of 1969, age 51, of 39 Montgomery St., Ilion, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2002, at Faxton Hospital, Utica. Barb was born January 26, 1951, in Ilion, the daughter of Frank E. and Winifred (Fritzie) Flock Deyle. On July 30, 1983, she married Joseph White in Ilion. Barb was a graduate of Ilion High School and Mohawk Valley Community College. She was employed as a secretary at the Ilion High School.

    Barb was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ilion, where she also taught Sunday School. She was active with her daughter in Girl Scouts and sports. Barb was an avid bowler in several leagues in the valley. Barb is survived by her husband, Joseph; her daughter, Kerri, of Ilion; a stepdaughter and her family, Theresa and Marc Kabot and their children, Cheyenna and Grace, of West Leyden; her brothers and their families, James and Annette Deyle and their daughter, Andrea, of Ilion, William and Dawn Deyle and their children, Kathy, William and Tom, of Ilion; a sister, Catherine Deyle, of Grayslake, IL, and her son, Tim; her mother-in-law, Helen White, of Ilion; also one aunt and three cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Deyle, on July 19, 2001. Funeral services for Mrs. White will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Otsego and Second Sts., Ilion, with Rev. Wesley Shipp officiating.     Mrs. Flora Bean, age 93, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Folts Home, Herkimer. She was born Dec. 6, 1908, in the town of Stark, the daughter of Charles and Cora (Smythe) Welden. On Friday, Feb. 13, 1942, she married Daniel Bean; he predeceased her Aug. 3, 1994. Mrs. Bean was a 1927 graduate of Cherry Valley High School, received her bachelor's degree from Albany Teachers College in 1931 and her master's degree from Syracuse University in 1941. She did additional studies at Utica College and Syracuse University. She was a teacher from 1932-1965 in Ilion High School and one year in Oriskany Falls School. For 18 years, she and her husband operated the Sleepy Hollow Cottages in Richfield Springs. Mrs. Bean was a member of the Albany State Teachers Alumni Association, Herkimer County Retired Teachers Association and the New York State Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Bean's name may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 52, Amsterdam 12010. Graveside funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, in the Fort Plain Cemetery, Fort Plain. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.     Mr. Stephen Canipe - 34 years of dedicated service to the students of Ilion Junior-Senior High School as a teach, coach, advisor, mentor and friend.

    Mrs. Barbara Cormia - 30 years of service to the Ilion Central School District as a teacher at Barringer Road Elementary School.

    Mrs. Grace Osborne - 23 years of service to the Ilion Central School District as the Gifted and Talented, Curriculum Director, Director of Special Services and mentor to children of Ilion.

    Mrs. Janet Tanner - 30 years of service to the Ilion Central School District as a teacher at Remington Elementary School. She was awarded the "George E. Anderson Excellence in Education Award" in 1992.

    Mr. Terry Watson - 32 years of service to the Ilion Central School District as a teacher at Barringer Road Elementary School.

    Mr. Arthur Williams - 26 years of service to the Ilion Central School District as a business teacher at Ilion Junior-Senior High School.

    Mr. Michael Skinner

    Mr. Michael F. Skinner, age 61, of 38 Harriet Ave., Ilion, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002, after a long illness. He was born April 14, 1941, in Utica, the son of the late Francis and Helen Lafferty Skinner. He received his education at St. Mary's Academy in Little Falls, graduating in 1959. He then attended and graduated from Lemoyne College and SUNY- Brockport. On April 14, 1978, he married the former Juliann E. Piccione at St. Ann's Church in Whitesboro. Mike was a history teacher at Ilion High School for 30 years and also coached in the sports program there, until retiring from teaching in 1997.

    Mike served with the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1966, and taught high school in New Castle, Australia, for a year. Mike was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, and devoted a great deal of time and effort to the youth of Ilion. He was a member of the board of directors of Ilion Little League for over 10 years, a coach for Ilion High School, helped start the Ilion youth basketball program, and he was also a member of the Ilion Elks Lodge 1444 BPOE. After his retirement, he was employed with the American Automobile Association in Utica.

    Mike is survived by his loving wife, Juliann; and his beloved children, Christopher and Matthew, both at home; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Joseph Maurice of Salt Lake City, Utah; an aunt, CSJ James Margaret Lafferty of Latham; his mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Julia Piccione, of Whitesboro; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Peter Dellerba of Whitesboro and Nancy and Patrick Clark of Marcy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, June 3, at 1 p.m. in the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Little Falls. Friends may call Sunday, June 2, from 4-7 p.m. at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion. At the family's request, please omit flowers. Medical Benefit Fund Raiser for Bob Jones and Mike Skinner

    A Medical Benefit Fund Raiser for Bob Jones, Ilion Central School District Foundation - Vice President and Mike Skinner, retired Ilion High Faculty member, will be held at the Ilion Elks Lodge 1444, on Thursday, May 16, 2002. The evening will start with a Spaghetti Dinner from 5-8 PM. Donation for the tickets is $8.00 per adult; $4.00 for children from ages 5-12; and a $20 maximum donation, per family for dinner. A maximum of 150 raffle tickets, at $50 each, will be sold prior to the Spaghetti Dinner. The drawing for the Raffle will be held at 8 PM, on May 16. Raffle Prizes will be $2000 for 1st prize and $1000 for 2nd prize. The winners need not be present to win. Tickets for dinner and tickets for the raffle may be purchased from committee members, at HSBC Bank in Ilion, and the Ilion Elks Lodge 1444.     Agnes (Hayes) Urtz, age 94, of Mystic, CT, died April 29, 2002 in Mystic after a brief illness. Mrs. Urtz, a longtime resident of Ilion, NY, was employed as a first grade teacher in the Ilion Public School system from 1928 until her retirement in 1972. Her husband, Jerome L. Urtz, died in 1993. Mrs. Urtz is survived by her daughter, Jill Urtz, of Mystic with whom she made her home; a granddaughter and a great-grandson. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated for the immediate family. The family requests donations to the Mystic Manor Helping Hands Fund, 475 High St., Mystic 06355. The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic, is assisting the family.     Audrey L. Sammon, age 72, of Lowville, died Monday evening at the Lewis County General Hospital, after a long battle with emphysema. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, at 9:30 a.m. at the Virkler-Percoski Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary K. Guy, pastor of the Lowville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery, Pittsfield, Mass., at 3 p.m. on Friday. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening, April 11, from 5-8 p.m. Contributions may be made to Lewis County Public Health, Specify Teen Smoking Prevention, 7785 N. State St., Lowville 13367. Surviving Mrs. Sammon are her son and daughter-in-law, Leo J. Sammon III and Theresa of Lowville and her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and John Alexanderowicz of Vernon, Conn.; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Levitre of Skaneateles; six grandchildren, Keely, Tanner and Kelsey Sammon and John "JR," Amy and Seth Alexanderowicz; and nieces and nephews. Born June 5, 1929, in Watertown, Wis., a daughter of Lynn and Irene Pounder Harsh, Mrs. Sammon graduated from Northport High School in Northport, L.I., in 1947, and from Plattsburgh State Teacher's College in 1951. On Dec. 19, 1953, she married Leo J. Sammon Jr. at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Northport, L.I., with the Rev. Robert F. Ramm, officiating. She taught home economics in various school districts, including Hudson, Frankfort, Mohawk and Ilion districts, retiring due to illness. Mr. Sammon died Aug. 4, 1974, and Mrs. Sammon moved to the Lowville area in 1992. Mrs. Sammon was a past regent of the Mohawk Valley DAR and a past member of the American Association of University Women (Herkimer branch) and a past member of the Ilion Historical and Garden clubs. She enjoyed gardening and reading. (January 9, 2002)

    Alice E. Baldwin, age 84, of Center St., Mohawk, a longtime Mohawk resident, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Little Falls Hospital. Alice was born May 29, 1917, in Herkimer, a daughter of Henry and Julia (Murphy) Byrnes. She was a graduate of Herkimer High School and "class of 1935," attended Geneseo and Buffalo state colleges and received a master's in education degree from St. Lawrence University. On Aug. 9, 1952, she was united in marriage to Raymond "Pete" Baldwin at St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer, a loving and devoted union of 49 years. Alice started her teaching career in the West Canada School District and later in the Huntington Station, L.I., School District during World War II. She was last employed by the Ilion School District as an elementary school teacher at the North Street School, retiring in 1973 with 28 years of dedicated service. She was a parishioner at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, and at one time was a member of the Rosary Society. She was a member of the Mohawk Crowley Barnum American Legion Post 25 Auxiliary, and the Herkimer County and New York State Retired Teachers Association, and at one time was a member and volunteer with the Mohawk Valley Hospital Guild. Survivors include her loving husband, Raymond "Pete" Baldwin; one sister, Marion Bates of Lakeland, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joan Byrnes of Guilderland; her sister-in-law, Rose Baldwin of Mohawk; several nieces and nephews and many good friends, including her dear friends Audry Chapman and her family of Newport.Alice's funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 8, commencing at 9:45 a.m. at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk, and 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, with Father James Steuer, pastor, celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be considered in Alice's memory to the Alzheimer's Association. (January 9, 2002)


Anniversary....

    Warren Crocker and Dorothy (Clemence) Crocker, of South Third Ave., Ilion, will observe their 60th wedding aniversary on Jan 12, 2002. They were wed January 12, 1942 in Champaign, Ill. by the Rev. Ray Cartlidge of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Crocker is a retired science teacher (physics) from Ilion Central High School. The Crockers have 6 children, Stephen Crocker, Little Falls; David Crocker, Fairport; Richard Crocker, Ilion; Judith Raland, Belleville, Mich; Susan Pilipczuk, Clinton and Linda Crocker; Rotterdam.
