"YES, we are havin' a 50th swaree' weekend this year, and, it's pretty firm for the Ilion Days wknd., 3rd wknd. in July. We have a "committee" (of sorts) plannin' the auspicious event & now that I am aware that this great site is available to spread the news, I - or Cindy - will update all y'all on a reg'lar basis. First mtg of committee is Tues., 17th, 1 PM at Applegate's Funeral Home on West Street, -- Ya, that's what I said -- Donnie's been gracious enough to lend us some space to kick off our MAJOR EVENT planning. All local Class of '62ers are cordially invited & encouraged to attend. We'll go on & up from there."

The reunion committee is planning a special event for the Class of 1968 in the year 2010 when our members are turning (or HAVE turned) 60!! "The Sixties are Back" Celebration (1962-1968) Reunion
Our special weekend is planned for Friday, July 16 and Saturday, July 17 in Ilion during "There's No Place Like Home" Ilion Days Weekend. Friday at 6:00 PM is the "DOO DAH" Parade passing by the Ilion Elks. After the parade there will be an informal celebration at the Elks so we can socialize with our classmates. On Saturday from noon until 6:00 PM we are having an informal, private cookout at the Ilion Fish and Game Club (cash bar). There will be fireworks on Saturday evening at dusk at the Remington field near the former North Street school. If you are planning on attending (and bringing a guest) please let us know the number of people by April 15, 2010. If there are not enough reservations by April 15th deadline, we may be forced to cancel the event. Our expenses include: facility rental, catering and supplies. Price per person is $20.00; per couple $35.00. Please make checks payable to Linda Whittemore and send to 75 South Fifth Ave. Ilion, New York 13357. (Checks should be received by July 1, 2010). - Friday, July 17th: Ilion Doo-Daah parade… starts at 6:30 p.m. and we need to meet at 5:30 p.m. to participate in the parade itself. A reunion t-shirt based around the theme of the parade 'Ilion is a Hidden Treasure' can be purchased. (Purchasing the t-shirt is optional.) The cost will be $10.00 for an adult t-shirts (size S-XL) and $8.00 for children (size S-L). The deadline for the orders has passed, but you can contact Julie Ball to get in a late order (if enough classmates are interested in ordering.) After the parade, we will then have a gathering at Crossway’s Tavern for a cash bar, DJ, & free munchies (DJ & munchies donated by Jim Crossway for free!). - Saturday, July 18th: There willl be a tour of Ilion High School for those who haven’t been back to see all of the changes--- WHAT A CHANGE! WOW! If only it had looked that way when we were there! The tour is set for 12 noon. We can meet around the back of the school, off of Phillip Street, and at the "I" entrance. At night, there will be a dinner at the Knight’s Inn in Little Falls (hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner, cash bar, dessert, and DJ). There will be a social hour and hors d’oeuvres from 6- 7 p.m., dinner @ 7 p.m., and dancing/ socializing until 11 p.m. If you need a hotel room, then please call reservations toll free @ 1-866-631-4470 or email stay@knightsinnoflittlefalls.com. So, Saturday - possibly a buffet with a DJ...nothing fancy...just plain fun. We're getting too old for a lot of pomp anyway!! Obviously, at this point - the primary concern is getting in touch with everyone! The date of the class reunion has been set! The reunion will be held July 18-20. Events will begin Friday night and will run through Sunday afternoon. The formal dinner and dance will be held on Saturday July 19th. You can expect to receive your invitation/informational package in the March timeframe. The packet will include and agenda for the weekend, prices, and response cards. I am still missing contact information for several of our classmates. A group met on October 9, 2007 and is continuing on in an effort to put together a reunion for all graduates of MHS. Our next meeting is Tues, Nov 13, 6:30 pm at the Mohawk American Legion. Graduates who live locally are urged to attend and bring a graduate from a class other than their year of graduation. The reunion is tentatively scheduled for Columbus Weekend 2008. We are looking for graduates to assist in contacting classmates and notify them of this exceptional event. The Class of 1976 will be holding their 30th Class Reunion November 24th through the 25th. Friday night will begin with a Road Rally with classmates meeting behind the high school to pick up their sheets. There will be an informal gathering, at the Ilion Elks Lodge, in the Lounge area. On Saturday, November 25th, the Reunion will be held at the Hotel Utica with registration to begin at 6:30 p.m. We will also be arranging for a bus to transport those who do not want to drive. "The Special Events Committee joined us to bring back some of the memories of last year's Megan reunion," Whittemore said. "It was an exciting experience and we wanted to do it again this year and invite all former Ilion High School students to join us." The committee will sponsor tours of the high school from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., July 26, and will raffle a "travel package" that includes a voucher from Liberty Travel, good for any travel, committee chairman Dick Bly said. Only 1,000 tickets at $5 each will be sold by local merchants and at the village offices. A winner will be drawn prior to the July 27 fireworks. The raffle and a donation booth set at the mall during Ilion Days will help fund several projects the committee has undertaken, including erecting a memorial to deceased classmates in the school's new courtyard, the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium Project at the municipal building and the committee's efforts to save the Ilion Pool. The Ilion High School Class of 1974 will NOT be holding a 30th reunion in the year 2004. Out-of-state members of the class, who will be attending this year's October 11-13 Mega Reunion, requested that local class members utilize the October event as the Official Reunion for the Class of 1974. Local 1974 classmates are asked to extend their hospitality and welcome these out-of-town class members by registering for the Mega Reunion. Registration forms for the reunion are available at the Ilion Library, the Village Clerk's office, area merchants and from committee members and on this website. Family members of 1974 classmates are asked to notify any alumnus who may not yet know about the Mega Reunion and to let them know that it will also be the Official Class of 1974 reunion. The next possible reunion will then be in the year 2009 - the 35th year reunion. (August 26, 2002) Ilionites Reunite in Florida....."On March 6th, we had Ilion Days for all of the people here in Florida. There were 50 in attendance. We are trying for a greater number of people to attend. It is held on the first Wednesday in March, at Coquina Beach which is just north of Sarasota or south of Bradenton. Jerry Angell is the IHS Class of '52 50th Reunion Coordinator. This past Oct, the organizing committee met and picked the Ramada Inn (New Hartford) and Oct 12th, 2002 for their 50th Reunion headquarters and dinner.
