In January, Ann will assume responsibilities as Director of the Lake Huron RetreatCenter for Adult and Family Ministries for the Detroit Conference of theUnited Methodist Church. This is a facility that will provide ministry opportunities (weekend retreats and possibly even some week-long events in the summer) primarily for adults, but will also provide a couple of annual events for families. It's a 94 acre facility just north of Port Huron, Michigan (the actual town is Lakeport). Fourteen acres is lakefront property, on the east side of Highway 25 (get a map out!) and the other 80 acres is on the west side.
In Ann's words, "It's an opportunity for me to return to the work I do best and love most. It's also an excellent financial opportunity for me. Housing comes with the package and so I'll live right at the retreat center. I'm very excited about it, although moving in January probably won't be much fun!"
