Charles Comstock Brill IHS Valedictorian 1881 and Syracuse University Graduate - 1885
Marion Brill Terpening IHS 1910, was the daughter of Charles Comstock Brill and Carrie (Hoefler) Brill IHS 1882. The Brill family occupied the home at 353 West Main Street, later known as The Homestead. The Marion Brill Scholarship Foundation was created in 1979. Since then it has provided scholarships for deserving young men and women pupils of the Ilion Central School District to assist in attending educational institutions beyond the high school level.
Ilion, Feb. 25.— Funeral services for Charles C. Brill, one of the oldest living alumni of Syracuse University, were held at 2:30, P.M. Wednesday at his home, 353 West Main Street, Ilion. Mr. Brill was a retired professor and executive of Norwich University and at the time of his death headed the Ilion Board of Park Commissioners. While at Norwich University he was elected professor of chemistry and physics, served as dean from 1903 to 1906, and received his Ph.D. degree the following year. The Rev. Earnest C. Love officiated, and burial was,in Armory Hill Cemetery. - Syracuse Herald Journal, February 25, 1942
